Long Covid-, Post-Vac- und chronisch Kranke Community

Support groups are important to navigate through chronic illness, but once they reach a certain size and/or are run by admins that lost hope of recovery, the negative effects often outweigh the positive ones and it is more beneficial to leave a toxic environment, because as Jed Bennett calls it – misery often loves company.

One of the support groups that we recommend, because they value the same principles as we – scientific, fact based information and positive communication is the Long Covid Apheresis Community (lcacommunity.org). Our Co-founder Markus Klotz has founded the predecessor organisation of the Long Covid Apheresis Community – the former Apheresis Association. You can find an article about this here. 

Unfortunately many support groups have outgrown the size where they can be useful to members. Admins and members that already have given up hope and suppress positive information are likely not good company as Jed Bennett describes in this little mini-series of three short videos: Mini-series with Jed Bennett in our blog

Two studies that hint to why such support groups are prone to become this way, are about the lack of serotonin (and potentially dopamine) and cortisol, which in combination or on their own will affect the psychological wellbeing of a person massively.

Last year, many of our patients postponed their treatment decisions and only arrived this year. As early treatment is very beneficial, this did not sit well with us – especially as most of the time the reason for postponement was a local health professional who did not have the in-depth knowledge to support them. This is why we have supported the community with a project to gather and share knowledge about (H.E.L.P.) apheresis for medical professionals:

Dr. Irina Pavlik Marangos has extensive experience in treating Long Covid, Post Vac and Chronic Illnesses patients with Combination Therapy including Help Apheresis and  co-treatments like IV treatments, Medication protocols, Hyperbaric Oxygen and Cryo treatments. She has been working almost a decade in medical research before returning to the frontline as a treating clinician.

Silke Fischer is one of the leading technical experts in Apheresis for Long Covid.  After over two decades in the industry, one decade at B.Braun Medical, she now supports projects internationally.

Sie hat die meisten Ärzte und Krankenschwestern im Bereich Help Apherese in Zypern, der Schweiz und Deutschland ausgebildet, und ihr Team hat Hunderte von Patienten mit Long Covid behandelt.

Sie ist eine zertifizierte technische Anwendungsexpertin und Ausbilderin und an der Entwicklung von Apherese- und Dialysegeräten beteiligt.
